History of the Parish
|
| |
St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church Karol Bagh Delhi
is a parish under the Mar Thoma Syrian Church Delhi Diocese and
came into being in 1953. From the small beginning of a few Marthomites
who migrated to Delhi in the forties, the Lord blessed the assembly
to grow to be a mother parish to nine parishes and one congregation
in the Delhi region.
While keeping the tradition of the Mar Thoma Church, our parish has taken leadership
in various innovative programmes and development work aimed at the weaker sections
of the society where it belongs. For the last twenty years the church has been
undertaking development work among the poor and downtrodden people living in
the slums of North-West Delhi. From August 2000 the development works of the
parish was brought under a Registered Society named Mar Thoma Social Action. |
